reset toolbox doesn't delete my components

Hi,

I am in the process of developing a custom component. During that time I went through many versions of my custom component, including various DLL names and signatures, different code etc.

The problem is that now I have old versions of my custom components stuck in the default settings of the toolbox. When I reset the toolbox, even if I manually deleted the old items, it appears again.

I tried to delete all the DLLs I previously copied to the SQL Server directories, and also uninstalled all the DLLs from GAC.

The result was that the new components didn't appear, and I don't have the option to choose them in the "choose items" menu, but they still appear on the toolbox.

It is not something I can't live with, but it's really annoying seeing old and irrelevant versions right in your face...

Please help :-)

I believe the toolbox enumeration is driven off the %ProgramFiles%\DTS\<ComponentType> folder, so if you delete the old versions from there and reset they should be removed from the toolbox.|||I don't have that folder... I tried deleting everything from the relevant sql server folder, but it didn't help.|||Sorry, what I meant was %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\<Component>. So to remove any Data Flow components, clean up C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\PipelineComponents. For Tasks, clean up C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Tasks etc.|||That's what I did to begin with... it still didn't help.

Reset page # after a "specific" group

http://blogs.msdn.com/chrishays/archive/2006/01/05/ResetPageNumberOnGroup.aspx
the above custom code works when reset is needed on change of each
group, How do I modify this code to reset pagenumber after a particular
group say "group 3".Shared offset as Integer
Shared currentgroup as Object
Public Function GetGroupPageNumber(group as Object, pagenumber as
Integer) as Object
If Not (group = currentgroup)
offset = pagenumber - 1
End If
Return pagenumber - offset
End Function
The above code works!

Request for Change form

Does anyone have a sample of this form I could use?
We're moving to a custom CRM package written in .NET and I'll be handing the
maintanence of the CRM. I need to start developing a procedure for request
for changes because currently it's all informal.
The requests would be anything from something small like changing the font
of a field on a page to medium like adding a new field to high of error
messages.
Should all requests be written? in what format?
any direction is appreciated.Hi
Examples of this sort of thing might be found (say) in a book or course
notes for whatever methodology you are using, or possibly if you are using a
bug tracking system it would be a specific status type and a given report
that would produce this.

Repost:External Assemblies in Reports

Hi ALL,
Is it true that any custom assembly that I create ,by defualt has
"Execution" permission and if it dosn't attempt to have access to protected
resources like files ,that secuity policy will do and I don't need to change
any security policy?
I've cretaed a simple Assemly which only returns an string ,and I'he given
it full permission in report server security policy ,but I still get a
security error...
Any Sugessions?
I appreciate your help.
ALIThis sounds like your custom assembly does more than "just return a string".
Also, just changing the security policy configuration is not sufficient if
your custom assembly needs more than ExecutionOnly permissions. You also
need to explicitly assert permissions in the code of your custom assembly.
Some articles about using custom code / custom assemblies:

*

Also, if your custom assembly is signed you'll need to put APTCA on it.

I added "AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers" attribute to my assembly's manifiest
and now it is working.I think because "Host Expression Assemby" ,which is
responsible to call my custom assembly, has only "Execution" permission,it is
somehow classified as partially Trusted Caller and it can't call my assemly
without my assemly being marked by that attribute.
No My assemly dos nothing except returning a sime string which has been
constructed in its construcotr.
Anyways,thanks for your help .

AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers attribute set (this is what I meant with APTCA
in the previous posting).

Repost : Custom tools

Hi
i am posting this message again.
We have the chart control. But i know that we can change the chart type dynamically. So is it posible that we can change the chart control dll and add some combobox along with it which will give the various types of chart. On selecting the type , the corresponding chart type would be shown.I mean to say can i add custom tool which will have the existing chart control of report designer and an extra combo box to select the type at runtime. MrRobert Bruckner [MSFT] has given one solution for that is to have multiple chart types and make any one visible based on some parameter. But then doing that the report will become very heavy.
Can some one throw some light on the approach i have put .
Or is this feature available in the SP1.
Thanks in advanceCombo boxes (or custom controls) are not available in a report. You could
have a set of hyperlinks that changed the type via a parameter. I'm not sure
why you mean it will become "very heavy".

understand that having multiple charts side-by-side and only one visible at
runtime (based on parameter) will make the design more complex. However, the
impact at runtime is very limited because if chart instances are hidden, no
processing/rendering of the chart will happen.

And why i meant it heavy is that when the report is processing it will take more time since it has process data for two chart separetely and while showing it , it is showing only one but inside both the charts are processed. Even if we use hyperlinks we must have defferent chart for each type. Is it available in SP1.
