Resizing parameters
view these reports in VS they look fine, however once deployed and viewed in
the webbrowser (MS Internet Explorer) the drop-down boxes are too small (or
the font size is too big).
Is there a way to adjust (resize) the control boxes so you can make them
larger so it's easier for people to actually read where they can choose
between?
thanks,

As far as I know, there is not. This has been a common request on this
news group. Hopefully, this will be addressed in SSRS 2008. Otherwise,
you could try to inject CSS; however, I think that styling is only
allowed at the Report Manager page and report border level (though I'm
not sure). Sorry that I could not be of greater assistance.

It doesn't appear that my last reply posted; so, here it goes again.
As far as I know, this not possible. It has been a common request in
this newsgroup. Hopefully, a resolution for this will be provided in
SSRS 2008. The only other thing I can think of is to try and inject or
reference a CSS/stylesheet (but, I think this is limited to styling
the Report Mgr page, etc). Sorry that I could not be of greater
assistance.

Resetting Email Queue
I have a the database mail system parameters set to retry sending failed
emails every ten minutes. I want to leave these settings as is.
How can I reset the queue ? that is delete all items in the queue - even if
they have failed! I need to refresh/delete them because we send out the
emails manually if they failed tooo many times - and then eventually sql 2005
alse sends them - i have to prevent this.
Answered my quesiton myself!
One can look at the default system stored procedure and modify it to accept
a subject for example as a parameter.
Then just tweak the rest of the stored procedure to make it select only mail
items with similar subjects and delete those!
done!

reset report parameters back to defaults
Studio.
Is there an easy way to reset/clear the report parameters back to the
defaults while viewing the report in IE.
Right now I have create a hyperlink which will re-direct to the URL of the
report which thus sets the paramaters back to their defaults, but it seems
that there must be a better way to do this.Hello,
Reporting Services did not provide the method to reset the parameters back
to the default.
Your solution is the best way I think to achieve your requirement.

Reset Report Parameters
Hi
I am creating a report which have 10 different parameter. User needs a button or any functionality using which he/she can reset all the parameter at once and view unfiltered report.
How can I achieve that?
Regards
You can add a textbox that has an action set to "Jump to Report" and set the report to itself.
This will reset the parameters back to their default values or you can specify specific parameters to reset by setting the parameter values that you want to persist to their current value in the Actions dialog.

Request only the required parameters
I have a rdl document with 1 DataSource and many dataSets (all MDX
type). For each dataSet I have one or more parameters (any of them
optional).
This rdl is clean in design terms (in layout mode there aren't any
objects). The goal is to give this file to other user(client) and he
will decide what data he want to see.
The problem that I have, simulating what the end user will do, is
after choosing some columns of data, when previewing, the Visual
Studio asks for all parameters of the rdl, even if I'm only asking to
see data of a particular dataset.
Is there a way to request only the required parameters for the data
that I want to see?
I already thought to divide this rdl document in many documents (one
for each dataset) but the client doesn't want that.
Thanks,
Sidhartagive each parameter a default value in report

Request for extension
own UI for that, and would like to somehow extend the reporting framework.
Could you add an extension point for gathering of parameters? Is ther some
other way to do it?There is no way to extend or override the report server controls, but
you could make a web service call to GetReportParameters to find the
parameters for a report, thier type, thier dependencies, and thier
valid values. This would give you enough information to dynamically
build a UI to gather parameter information.
Once you have the parameter values you can pass them along in a URL to
the report server, or in the web service method Render to get the
report displayed.

Repostition Parameters
parameters when viewing reports accessed through URL reporting and using the
Report Viewer. For example, we have 5 parameters on a report. One is a drop
down dynamic list of customer names, two are dates (start and end) and 2 are
radio buttons. We would like the list of customer names to be first with
nothing to the right of it. Then the two date parameters on the next line.
And lastly, the 2 radio button parameters displayed on the last line. I
cannot find a way to do this within SSRS or by using CSS. I fear it may be
totally controlled by SSRS with no chance for reformating or customization.
Thank you

As far as I know, you are correct. That said, you can change ordering
of the parameters (i.e., which one is 1st, 2nd, and so on). That would
be done from the Report tab (at the top) -> Report Parameters dialog w/
the up and down arrows. Sorry that I could not be of further
assistance.

and integrate with reports using web services. Having said that, its not so
easy to write on the fly, but pretty simple if you have some time to write, I
have been using this web services for long and believe me its good. To start
with you can go through some samples available in BOl and pickup the same pgm
and change according to your needs, that will make your development faster.

Repost: Calculated default parameters not visible in Web UI
universal member, I think I have the right of an MS employee answer.
I want to set report parameters to the first day of the previous month.
In order to do so, I calculate a parameter value by entering the
following into the Report Parameter Dialog (Default Values - Non
Queried): =New Date(Now.Year,Now.Month,1).AddMonths(-1)
This seems to work fine. But the Web UI doesn't display the standard
value if I go to Report Properties - Parameters. Instead, only a check
mark is displayed in the "Has default value" checkbox, the "default
value" textbox is empty. If I click on "apply", I get an error "a value
has to be supported".
If I type in the same calculation function again into the text box, I
get the exception "rsReportParameterTypeMismatch".
What I actually want to do: To create multiple linked reports with
differing calculated standard values, e.g. previous week, previous
month, previous day. If I can't change to calucation formula in the Web
UI interface, it seems there is no way of doing this.
Am I missing something here, or is that a bug? How can I accomplish this?
Thanks for any help

Yes, you understood me correctly. What I want to do is design one report

ReportViewer.ServerReport and using Parameters
I finally have figured out how to pass my UserName and Password to the reportserver and be able to run a report in my app.
NOW when I run a report that has parameters and select them then click on View Report it just returns a blank page and never shows the generating report message. When I run reports WITHOUT parameters they generate fine...
Am I missing something?
you probably use the paramters with a wrong format.if you have parameters and the report does nothing ,its because you didn't give the parameters the expected values or format...
